GRU-ordered arson of Slava Ukraini restaurant, Tallinn

On the night of 31 January 2025 Moldovan national Ivan Chihaial set fire to the Ukrainian restaurant Slava Ukraini in Tallinn after a trial arson at a store in Osula. The court found he was tasked by Russia's GRU.
Established by. Harju County Court (settlement proceedings) convicted him on 2 July 2025 of arson on behalf of Russian special services (6.5 years); Estonian Prosecutor's Office stated the task came from the GRU.
Latest. Convicted 2 July 2025; accomplice received 2.5 years (mostly suspended).
