Konotop, Sumy region, 24–27 Oct 2026
Drone strike on the city's energy infrastructure · four days without power

Overnight into 24 October Russian drones hit the energy infrastructure of Konotop, a railway city in the north of the Sumy region. Most of the city lost electricity and, for the most part, gas, and the water intakes stopped. Water now runs twice a day; the city hospital works on generators, schools were damaged, electric transport stopped and resilience points opened for people to warm up and charge phones. On 27 October, the fourth day, the mayor wrote that there was no forecast for power; the regional grid company said repair times depend on security and access to the damaged sites. No casualties have been reported from the strike on the grid; on 24 October a drone killed a woman and injured four people on a farm in Konotop district.
